Anne Winter studied law at the University of Münster and the Université Panthéon-Assas in Paris. During her studies she was a scholarship holder of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and worked at the Institute for Common Law and Comparative Jurisprudence for Prof. Dr. Thomas Lundmark. She graduated in 2011 and holds a law degree (first state exam). From 2011-2014 she worked as a research Assistant at University of Münster for Prof. Dr. Thomas Lundmark and started her PhD project on "Judicial review and democratization in Burkina Faso", which is promoted by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and part of a comparative legal research project on judicial review and democratization in French-speaking West Africa at the Franz von Liszt Institute, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). During her PhD research period with Prof. Dr. Thilo Marauhn Anne Winter also spent two months at the University of Ouagadogou in Burkina Faso. 

Since February 2014 Anne Winter has been working as Research Assistant in the project on judicial review and democratization in Western Africa at the Franz von Liszt Institute for International and Comparative Law, Department for Public Law, International Law and European Union Law.

She is member of the African Law Association.
